Content Studio ver. 4.0 +

More information

Content Studio 4.0 introduced full support for encoding and Unicode in uploaded files, EPT (XML) documents and regular documents. You can now save any character defined in the Unicode system and perform full-text search using Unicode search-criterias. In addition to this Content Studio still supports character set encodings such as WINDOWS-1252 but in this case you cannot mix different character sets on the same page. If you would like to have Unicode support in your Content Studio documents you should consider using the UTF-8 encoding, this also goes for the edit and presentation templates involved in producing or displaying the document. In the file system Content Studio stores all UTF-8 encoded documents in the UTF-8 format except when you have set an encoding for the document. In that case the document is stored in the old ANSI format. Documents inherits the encoding of its category but only when the document is created. In the same manner a category inherits the encoding from its unit. Note that categories does not inherit encoding from their parent category, only from their units
